Parish Life
Small Groups
Adult Small Group Sundays, 5:15 – 6:15pm, The Kincaid Library St. Francis is large enough that you can, if you wish, attend worship on Sunday morning and remain faintly anonymous. Being Anglicans who "don't open windows on men's souls," we attract our share of the reserved. Still, as a tree depends on its leaves our life and growth as a parish depend on getting small. Once upon a time in Israel, God got small to make room for us Gentiles. Were it not so, we would be strangers to Him and to each other. But we're not strangers. From where the clergy sit, it's easy to see St. Francis arrayed in smaller cells that make up a larger organism. The Altar Guild, Petal Pushers (flower ministry), Lay Pastoral Visitors, the Wednesday 10 o'clock Eucharist, the Wednesday 11:00am Bible Study, the Thursday 7:00am Men's Bible Study, the Student Ministry Bible Study Thursday evenings at 5:30, the frequent Senior Ministry luncheons and outings, the Book Club, Loaves & Fishes — these are some of the ways our parish gets small throughout the week and throughout our community. A new small group has formed, springing from the current Sunday morning Adult Forum series (Tom Wright's Jesus: The New Way). Come on any given Sunday to engage in seminar-style discussion designed to encourage our personal discipleship. Participants worksheets will be distributed on Sunday mornings at the forum.
